We are seeking a Logistics & Customer Service Specialist in Danville, VA, a region known for its rich tobacco manufacturing heritage. This role will support customer order fulfillment, logistics coordination, and supply chain operations for a leading tobacco manufacturer.

This role serves as a key point of contact between customers, internal departments, and transportation providers while supporting inventory management, export processes, and supply chain efficiency.

Position Summary
The Logistics & Customer Service Specialist is responsible for coordinating customer orders, shipments, and logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of finished goods. This role serves as a key point of contact between customers, internal departments, and transportation providers while supporting inventory management, export processes, and supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, internal departments, transportation providers, and other stakeholders.
- Manage customer orders and ensure timely fulfillment of market requirements.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including transportation scheduling, tracking, and issue resolution.
- Prepare and maintain shipping, export, and transportation documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and help prevent stock shortages.
- Manage transportation activities within SAP, including order processing, delivery monitoring, and invoice validation.
- Support export operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize freight planning and logistics performance.
- Coordinate tax stamp requirements and related compliance activities.
- Assist with transportation forecasting, logistics planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, customer service, supply chain, international trade, or a related environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
