Customer Service Representative

We are hiring Customer Service Logistics Representatives for a distribution and logistics warehouse located right here in Rockford.

Role Highlights:

• Temp to Hire
• Pay rate: $20.50
• Benefits: Full benefits available once hired as a permanent employee
• Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30PM
• Location Rockford, Il

Responsibilities:

• Checking in truck drivers and assisting with BOL's
• Properly bill shipments pursuant to applicable tariffs and pricing agreements
• Recognize and resolve documentation errors
• Assist customers via phone, email and fax with inquiries including: tracing shipments, rate quotes, tariff discrepancies and billing and/or invoicing questions
• Perform general clerical duties as assigned, including: answering and directing phone calls, filing, data entry and billing
• Process over, short and damaged freight and related documentation for customer resolution
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends

Preferred Skills:

• Transportation experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Skills:

• Previous customer service experience
• Strong computer, typing and 10-key skills
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Must be flexible to working in changing environments and duties
• A minimum of 2+ years of customer service experience required
