Patient Access Customer Service Representative Emergency Department

On-Site Rutherfordton, NC | Rutherford Regional Hospital
Schedule: Wed 12 pm-6 pm5pm | ThursSat 6 am6 pm

Join R1 as a Patient Access Representative whe re youll be the first point of contact for patients , ensuring they receive fast, compassionate, and accurate access to care .

This is more than registration its a frontline healthcare customer service role where you directly impact patient experience, hospital operations, and revenue cycle success.

What Youll Do:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families during check-in

  • Provide fast and accurate patient registration in a high-volume environment

  • Support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration

  • Maintain data accuracy and compliance for billing and legal standards

  • Verify and enter insurance information, demographics, and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable

  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow

What Were Looking For:

  • Exceptional c ustomer service experience , communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong composure and professional ism in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly with h ig h attention to detail

  • Comfortable with shifting priorities based on patient needs

  • Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification, or front desk is a plus

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $14.50 - $18.99 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
