Large Animal SupervisorPosition SummaryThe Large Animal Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the large animal department to support high-quality patient care, efficient workflow, and excellent client service. This role provides leadership and support to veterinary technicians and client service team members while partnering closely with veterinarians to maintain operational excellence in both ambulatory and in-clinic services.The successful candidate is an organized and motivated leader with experience in veterinary medicine, staff supervision, scheduling, and client communication.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policies and proceduresProvide compassionate and professional care to patients and clientsMaintain a professional appearance and positive attitudeCoordinate staff schedules and daily assignmentsTrain, mentor, and support team members to promote high standards of patient care and professionalismFoster a collaborative, respectful, and safety-focused work environmentAssist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management activitiesSupport efficient scheduling and workflow for appointments, farm calls, emergencies, and proceduresOversee cleanliness and organization of treatment, office, and client-facing areasCommunicate professionally with clients regarding appointments, treatments, and follow-up careParticipate in supervisor and departmental meetingsPerform additional responsibilities as assigned to support hospital operationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious veterinary industry experience preferredLarge animal handling experience preferredCustomer service experience preferredPrior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferredSkills & CompetenciesStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesEffective problem-solving and time management skillsExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentKnowledge of equine and livestock handling procedures preferredStrong written, verbal, and computer skillsCompassionate and professional approach with clients and patientsFlexible and adaptable work styleCommitment to quality animal careComputer SkillsExperience with veterinary practice management software is preferred. Familiarity with Impromed and Microsoft Office applications is a plus.Physical RequirementsThis position requires regular standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and close visual attention. Team members may occasionally assist with animal handling and restraint.Work EnvironmentThis position works in both office and veterinary hospital settings and routinely uses standard office equipment. The role may involve exposure to animal-related odors, noise, medical procedures, and handling of animals in a clinical environment. Appropriate safety protocols and protective equipment are provided and required.
