SUMMARY:

Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the following Member Services sub departments: Membership, Correspondence, Share Drafts and Legal Document Processing. Provides advice and direction to direct and indirect reports by monitoring the efficiency, quality and quantity of work produced. Oversees departmental activities to ensure objectives are met. Evaluates department processes and procedures and recommends changes to streamline and create efficiencies in operations

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree or a minimum of eight years directly related experience

Minimum of five years retail/credit banking experience including three years in a supervisory role required.

Essential Skills:

Strong oral/written communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving customer services, multitasking and internet skills, and excellent telephone etiquette required

Job Responsibilities:

Promotes member engagement and account deepening by ensuring staff are informed/educated of Teachers products and services and promote their benefits to the members. Supports usage of CRM and Account Opening platforms.

Ensures that staff thoroughly checks all paperwork/documents for completeness, properly restricts, notates, open / closes accounts as required. Follows up with members and/or other Teachers' departments to obtain missing account information as needed, notifies members/beneficiaries in a timely fashion, and provides all required information/responses to attorneys, police, government officials, companies, etc. Monitors (and processes as needed) DocuSign forms to the membership upon member's request for data changes.

Manages the processing of legal notices (e.g., restraining notices, levies, judgments, Power of Attorney, Subpoena Duces Tecums, etc.), Verifications of Deposits, Medicaid Requests, responds to AVS / SSA inquiries via secure portal, verifies member bill pay activity as needed based off of vendor communication, monitors and maintains monthly share charge-off processing, and death notices.

Analyzes Exception and Overdraft reports to determine if share drafts should be returned or paid and stops payments as required.

Audits returned deposited checks, ensures that they are processed according to established procedures, and prepares reports detailing actions taken.

Researches and provides guidance to retail channels and other departments' questions on Revocable/Irrevocable trusts and deceased member/guardianship accounts, Quality controls documents, advises on required documentation, verifies signatures, interprets terminology and ensures policies are adhered to.

Ensures the reporting and compliance of the W8BEN mailing for Foreign National accounts and the IRS B Notice report for backup withholding. Monitors monthly backup withholding processing.

Audits requests for verification of deposits, account closings, Medicaid research, restriction notices, levies and other member requests. Scrutinizes Power of Attorney documents to ensure they comply with established procedures and notates information in the appropriate system.

Leads/participates in internal/external audits.

Keeps abreast of new laws/regulations and changes to existing ones, and recommends changes to Department processes/procedures to ensure compliance. Updates the department procedures as needed and ensures that staff are informed of changes.

Ensures department systems, databases and logs are maintained and sets up/changes staff's passwords and user IDs as needed.

Participates in the testing/implementation of new systems, provides input for their design/development/enhancement troubleshoots problems and follows up to ensure they are resolved.

Performs other duties inherent in the role of a manager and as needed upon request by immediate supervisor.

The good faith range for this position is $93,000 to $116,300 annually. This range is an estimate based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
