Uses automed pay systems to research, analyze and resolve customer service issues.

Identifies accounts receivables, erroneously taken discounts or failure to take discounts, improperly paid interest, input errors, refunds, duplice payments or other problem situions.

Receives, researches, analyzes, and answers telephone and written inquiries.

Explains and/or assists inquirers in the preparion of various forms and documents.

Qualificions

This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense via deleged authority by the Office of the Secretary of Defense. We reserve the right to close this announcement early or to extend, as approprie, based upon the needs of the Agency. Qualified applicion packages may be referred to management various points in the selection process depending on the number and timing of applicions received. Selections may be made any point during the announcement open period.

Applicants MUST have reled financial experience AND/OR a reled financial degree (examples include: Finance, Accounting, Management, Actuarial Science, or reled), in addition to meeting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualificion requirements. Substitution of combinion of educion and experience must still, in conjunction, minimally sisfy the DHA qualificion requirement.

Human Resources will determine your qualificions for each entry grade level based on your interest and the additional following criteria. Resumes for federal government positions need more detailed work descriptions and accomplishments than a typical prive sector resume. Please be sure to clearly describe this in your resume. Combinions of educion and experience may also be sufficient.

To be hired the GS-05 entry grade level, applicants must minimally have:

One (1) year ofexperience processing of financial transactions using standardized procedures to include reviewing documents for accuracy and inputting financial accounting informion into an automed system and correcting invalid/incorrect transactions.

SUBSITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR GS-05 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Four years of successfully completed educion above the high school level in any field for which high school graduion, or the equivalent, is a prerequisite may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required.

To be hired the GS-06 entry grade level, applicants must minimally have:

One (1) year of experience applying regulions, policies and procedures governing pay, billing and other types of financial transactions sufficient to convey informion to customers and other interested parties, researching customer accounts and financial regulions, policies and procedures to identify discrepancies and suggest solutions, explaining pay, billing and other types of financial procedures, interpreting technical merials, conveying options and resolving problems within automed financial systems.

SUBSITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR GS-06 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Six months of gradue educion th is directly reled to the work of the position being filled.

This position is developmental and selections may be made the GS-05 or GS-06 entry grade level. Once eligibility and qualificion requirements are met, selectees eligible for promotion management discretion to the GS-06 grade level without further competition.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through Nional Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizions (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience th transles to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You may qualify for considerion if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, educion requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualificion requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing de of the announcement, unless otherwise indiced on the announcement.

This announcement used to fill positions with an entry grade of GS-05 with a target grade of GS-06. The minimum salary for grade GS-05 is $42,086, maximum $54,706. The minimum salary for GS-06 is $46,914, maximum $60,986.

Educion

GS-05 Substitution of Educion for Experience: Four years of successfully completed educion above the high school level in any field for which high school graduion, or the equivalent, is a prerequisite may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required. Equivalent combinions of successfully completed post-high school educion and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.

GS-06 Substitution of Educion for Experience: Six months of gradue educion may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly reled to the work of the position being filled.

If you are using educion to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts the time you apply. To be creditable, educion must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only tendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions th are recognized by the U.S. Department of Educion ( ).

Telework availability is limited and will only be provided on a rare case-by-case basis during situions where Agency Leadership has determined th telework serves a compelling Department of Defense (DoD) need.
